About the Artist



Stanislaw Kmiecik was born in 1971 in Kleczany near Nowy Sacz, Poland. He was born without arms. When he was only five years old he began to paint with his mouth and feet. Follwoing years saw him developing his skills on his own and Stanislaw was able to make a major progress. His various paintings display strong emotions and reveal a talent that goes beyond an average creativity. In 1989 the artist received a VDMFK scholarship and in 2005 Stanislaw has become an associate member of the Association. Stanislaw Kmiecik’s favourite techniques are oils, pastels, watercolors, acrylics, tempera and pencils. He has a particular interest in painting landscapes, still lives, nudes and surrealistic paintings with very strong metaphysical moods. Even the calm and very accurate studies of buildings and architecture are very convincing because of their simplicity and their splendour. The artist prefers to paint outdoors being close to nature. His art can be found on holiday cards and calendars, distributed by the Association. In Poland it is AMUN from Raciborz, responsible for promoting disabled artists.Stanislaw Kmiecik has held a numerous art shows in Poland and abroad. Apart from art Stanislaw Kmiecik loves to drive a car himself - with his legs. He is a well-know artist in his native country of Poland.
